WY Premiere: Toothless Watch their video for new single “Alright Alright Alright”

Video: Toothless

There’s a great drawing by the infamous Raymond Pettibon, who designed the Black Flag logo among other emblematic images of the 80s LA punk scene, with the caption, “Even toothless, she can still bite off a boy’s head.” The quote, and the poster, resonated with bassist Ed Nash (of Bombay Bicycle Club) and ultimately led to his side project, naturally named Toothless. “The idea of something being toothless, but still having bite, struck Ed as strangely compelling.” And with that, Toothless emerged, debuting this past January with The Pace of the Passing via Rostrum/Island Records. The album is robust in sound, evolving with ease and grace yet packing punches all the way, a feat for any side hustle. Check out the video for single “Alright Alright Alright,” taken from band’s recently filmed Projection Sessions, premiering right here for your hungry eyes. So press play, and listen to the whole album. Toothless just released their new EP Palm’s, and it’s equally appealing in all the right ways. —Maya Eslami
