Here are one or two things about the people in this piece:
Before this summer, Owen Wright had never really been to America besides for surf contests, and during contests you don’t really do anything else. So this year Owen came with his lovely girlfriend, who’s studying for her teaching credential, and they just did American things. They went to Six Flags and the San Diego Zoo. And Owen surfed Trestles.
Taj Burrow just remodeled his house in Western Australia, on a property he’s owned for around 10 years and says he’ll never leave. Now after the remodel, the house is circular. It’s a round house. It looks out over Taj’s favorite wave but when Taj is away from home, and in California in particular, he surfs Trestles instead.
Jack Freestone, Mitch Crews and Creed McTaggart are in France. They’ve just arrived. There’s a surf contest there and then they’ll be posted up in a rented Hossegor flat to film and enjoy summertime. But before they left for Europe they were here in California, and they surfed Trestles.
Vega Trestles is better than everywhere else

We kinda got skunked the whole time. For the most part we just drove in circle. It was something like three fun surfs in a week. But I’d do it again right now.”—Ian Crane Yeah, we got skunked, but it wasn’t all for not. We hit the road to rip and see what kind of…

Some Kind of Vacation Prequil 2 of our road trip presented by Richer Poorer with Evan Mock, Ian Crane, Dylan Goodale and friends along the California coast
This teaser for Some Kind of Vacation features Evan Mock. A Hawaiian. A skateboarder…who surfs too. Evan is one of those annoying kids who is good at everything and charming as all hell. He would jump out of the van when we’d see a skate spot and make us all watch him rip it. Then…
Watch “Inside Magenta” Skateboard through Paris with Vivien Feil of Magenta Skateboards and learn about their new collab with Adidas
Vivien Feil started Magenta Skateboards in 2010 with his brother Jean and friend Soy Panday. And it started as a means of continuing to thrive off the creative spontaneity that skating always represented: as the celebration of being weird through skating and using that to fill the void that existed in that realm of skating….
Some Kind of Vacation Richer Poorer x What Youth present a mess of a road trip across California.
California is a damn fine playground. And while you could call it our backyard, we wanted to explore the next layer. We loaded up a van a few different times. And we went. With Ian Crane, Evan Mock, Dylan Goodale and we met up with everyone we know all over the place. It will eventually…

We came in this morning and the lights wouldn’t work. But I just fucking fixed em. And we’re off again. It was sunny outside and we might have found cover in a few waves out front. But enough about our morning, above you’ll see something preparing you for what’s to come tomorrow. And a lot…
New Scenery, New Noise A new film: Skating, surfing and snowboarding in the all day light of Sweden and Norway I Presented by Adidas
Drinking gets you closer to the Gods in Norway. Or so they say. And we just got up close and personal with them. You’ll remember a few months back when we had a problem “just saying yes” to everything. This is the result of that: a trip through Scandinavia with an eclectic crew that included Chippa…
Watch “Vinho Verde” Really good surfing in the oldest world of Portugal with Mitch Coleborn, Soli Bailey, Mitch Crews and Dusty Payne
Vinho Verde is actually white wine. But the bottle in green and the taste is terrific. And in Portugal, you can drink with any and every meal you choose. It accents buttery white fish perfectly. Post surf in Portugal, few things sound better. And as you’ll see here in this new short starring Mitch, Soli,…
Watch “El Norte” A skate trip through Northern Spain supported by Globe
A trip usually suggests planning, an itinerary, some form of goal or destination. That’s a trip. This was more an impulsive 48 hour mission into the Basque Country. A place renowned for it’s good weather and gluten fuelled cuisine. Turns out we chose the only two days of summer when the sun went into hiding,…

Eric Dressen’s Salad Bowl in Christiania We threw a party where there aren’t any rules. This is that.
Christiania is in Copenhagen. It is a largely self governed neighborhood of CPH, and hidden inside is a very fun bowl to skate. We joined up with Eric Dressen, the CPH Pro dudes and Monster to throw an event and bowl jam at the Wonderland Skate Bowl. And when you throw a party in a…
