This is Dane on the train to Osaka, in Japan.
Osaka is about an hour from its airport and our exit flight left the next day, and as none of us had been to Osaka we decided to ride in and see the sights. The city turns out to be rad, like a smaller Tokyo, less intense and with room to breathe.
We went straight to a bar.
Bar, bar, drink, bar, drink, the night wore on. Karaoke was unavoidable. After some duets Dane and his girlfriend made the entirely reasonable decision to board a train back to the airport hotel, but others of us missed that train, which at some point stops running for the night and doesn’t resume service until 6 a.m.
Well, what can you do? Just order another round and push through to sunrise.
